Euphonic Friday: Hitna’ari Edition

With Yom Yerushalayim fast approaching, now’s the perfect time to listen to Udi Davidi’s stunning “Hitna’ari” (“Shake Off Your Dust”):

The beautiful lyrics are available here.
Update: An English translation of the lyrics is now available here.

Speaking of Yom Yerushalayim, don’t forget (Emunah/Faith, this is for you… ;-)) that there are two white shirt days next week IY”H: Yom Yerushalayim on Sunday and then Rosh Chodesh Sivan on Tuesday.

And finally, in case you’ve missed them before – or even if you haven’t… - be sure to check out my in-laws’ incredible pictures of the Kotel from the summer of 1967.

.ותחזינה עינינו בשובך לציון ברחמים

“May our eyes behold Your return to Tzion with mercy.”

(From the Amidah prayer)

  2. Faith/Emuna - LOL! It's yet another one of those things that your shaliach neglected to tell you... :-)

  4. Faith/Emuna - Well, that explains why you never received the Official White Shirt Reminder Kit (ערכת תזכורת לימי כחולבן)... :-)

  5. oh my! what else did i miss? although had i gotten it at the time i wouldnt have had a clue, being single and living in a dorm and all. nefeh benefesh should really have histalmuyot for prenefesh benfesh olim, dontcha think? actually i have this perpetual feeling that things were handed out to others while i was somewhere else - like the kit of how to clean your kitchen after every meal and how to light candles for shabbat like in an artscroll picture (table set, shiny silver, well dressed, groomed and behaved children, serene look on face)

  6. Faith/Emuna - Hishtalmuyot for pre-NBN olim? Great idea! And I seem to have missed out on many of those same kits too... :-)
